Groundwork Kent & Medway is a local charity which works in partnership to bring about environmental, economic and community regeneration to address local needs, to help create a place where we want to work, live and stay We provide a host of services to improve your daily life whether you live in Sittingbourne, Sheppey, Faversham or any of the surrounding rural areas. And if you're just visiting Swale, whether for work or pleasure, we're able to help you too Rural Arisings specialise in transforming derelict and disused sites, including contaminated land, into green space for recreation and conservation. Swale Forward is a new delivery vehicle for regeneration in Swale. It co-ordinates the Swale Priority Investment Programme, worth a total of £26 million. Communites and Local Governemt Communities and Local Government's vision is of prosperous and cohesive communities, offering a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for all. Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway The Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway is the preserved southern half of the former Bowater's Railway built to move the raw materials for paper making and also the finished products around the mill at Sittingbourne. Historical Research Group of Sittingbourne A non-profit-making organisation dedicated to understanding our history and heritage and helping others to do the same. A resource for schools, historians and researchers featuring museum archives, exhibitions, local history research, discussion forums and advice.
Dolphin Yard Sailing Barge Museum A fascinating insight into the maritime and industrial history of North Kent. The Bridge Eduction and Environemental Centre The Bridge will be a purpose built holistic centre using buildings constructed from environmentally friendly materials and designed to complement the surrounding area.
